New York: The Open Doors 2024 Report on International Educational Exchange has revealed that the number of international students at US colleges and universities has reached an unprecedented level, with a total of 1,126,690 students for the 2023/2024 academic year. This marks a 7% increase compared to the previous year, indicating a steady upward trend in international student enrollment following the pandemic.
According to Emirates News Agency, the US Department of Commerce reported that international students contributed a substantial $50 billion to the US economy in 2023. This economic boost primarily came from tuition fees and living expenses incurred by these students. Despite facing stiff competition from other popular study destinations such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, the US continues to be the leading choice for international students worldwide.
