Urumqi: The Emirates News Agency (WAM) is taking part in the 6th World Media Summit, which began today in Urumqi, capital city of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.Co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the Xinjiang regional government, the summit is being held under the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Media Transformation."Participants from various countries highlighted the importance of the summit as a platform to discuss the responsibilities and roles of media in light of rapidly evolving technologies, and to explore ways to enhance international cooperation in this field.The two-day summit covers key topics such as AI ethics in journalism, combating fake news, challenges in investigative journalism, and the media's role in fostering intercultural dialogue.Participants will explore the region's economic, cultural, and tourism landmarks through field visits and attend specialised workshops on digital media technologies.Source: Emirates News Agency
