Abu Dhabi: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has partnered with Careem through its ShareTheMeal app to initiate a donation campaign in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. This campaign allows Careem users to contribute to WFP's efforts in providing emergency food assistance in Gaza and the West Bank directly via the Careem app.
According to EMM, WFP is actively delivering essential food aid in Gaza amid challenging conditions such as worsening security and limited access. Recent assessments indicate that nearly one-third of the population is experiencing severe food shortages. Since May 21, WFP has dispatched numerous aid convoys, totaling over 1,200 trucks and carrying 18,247 metric tons of food into Gaza.
Through Careem's in-app donations platform, Right Click, users can contribute to WFP's emergency efforts. The donations are directed towards providing wheat flour, hot meals, and nutrition supplements to communities in Gaza and the West Bank. WFP aims to reach over 1.5 million people in these areas this year.
In 2025, Careem has already facilitated over $200,000 in donations for various causes, including emergency relief and education support, showcasing the commitment of Careem customers to making a difference through the app.
The WFP campaign is now active on Careem's donations platform Right Click in Jordan and the UAE. Users can download the latest version of the Careem app on iOS or Android to participate in this initiative.
