AJMAN, The Ajman Department of Tourism Development concluded the 6th edition of “Ride Ajman 2022” which was held in collaboration with Endurance Sports Services.
The race is part of the department’s strategy to support and encourage sports and adopting a healthy lifestyle, in addition to offering various kinds of events and activities.
The race launched from Marsa Ajman with more than 500 cyclists, and included distances of 53 km and 106 km with 66 winners from the Emirati and Open categories, as well as the participation of the people of determination for the first time in the 53 km race.
The main objective of “Ride Ajman 2022” is to shed light on Ajman’s touristic aspects by promoting the historical sites and sports activities it possesses, in addition to encouraging individual sports and preparing a young generation of athletes who can compete on an international level, as well as spreading a culture of tolerance within the society by engaging in community sports that bring people of different backgrounds in the UAE together.
Ajman’s extensive experience in hosting various entertainment, cultural, and sports events contributed in establishing the emirate’s position as a leading touristic destination that offers exceptional content for its visitors, and this race is regarded as a further affirmation of its capacity to organize all types of events and activities.
Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, stated that “Ride Ajman 2022” has become a prominent racing event in the country after achieving massive success in its previous editions, whether in terms of participation or public interest; which reinforces Ajman’s leading position in organizing such remarkable events thanks to its advanced and well-suited infrastructure.
“Ajman aims to increase the number of popular events that are suitable for all abilities, age groups, and segments of our society. This falls in line with our sustainable vision to create a homogeneous community that adopts sports as its lifestyle,” Alhashmi added.
