An earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Thursday Morobe Province, northern Papua New Guinea.The epicenter of the quake occurred 39 km from the city of Finschhafen, at a depth of 101.5 km, US Geological Survey reported.There have been no reports of human losses or material damage as a result of the quake so far.Papa New Guinea is located in the so-called Ring of Fire, a region that extends along the coast of the Pacific Ocean, which is characterized by high seismic and volcanic activity. In February 2018, a devastating earthquake hit the region, killing at least 100 people and causing landslides that buried dozens of villages.Source: Qatar News Agency
