Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, continued his intensive contacts with leaders of Arab and foreign countries to stop the ongoing violence and escalation in the Gaza Strip, and to mobilize international efforts to ensure respect for international humanitarian law, provide protection for civilians, and spare them from worsening suffering as a result of field developments. Disturbing.
The communications made by the UAE President included:
King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
During the communications, the Emirati President stressed the priority of preserving the lives of civilians, not throwing them into the cycle of violence and escalating conflict, exercising legal responsibility that guarantees their protection and safety, especially children, women and the elderly during conflicts, and releasing detained hostages.
He stressed the necessity of opening urgent humanitarian corridors to transport medical and relief aid to the Gaza Strip without obstacles, and facilitating mechanisms to provide the necessary protection for these corridors and enabling the relevant humanitarian organizations to carry out their responsibilities, in a way that ensures that the suffering that the Strip is witnessing does not worsen as a result of the escalating violence, in light of the presence of more than two million people. The vast majority of them are innocent civilians and not involved in the ongoing conflict.
The communications also discussed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts aimed at containing the situation and searching for prospects for calm to prevent the escalation of violence and the expansion of its circle, and not slide towards further tension and escalation, as this has serious repercussions on regional and international stability and peace.
The UAE President's continuous and intensive communications come within the framework of the efforts made by the United Arab Emirates to ensure that the situation does not deteriorate or worsen.
