Al-Mandalawi calls on the Turkish side to increase water releases and facilitate entry visa procedures between the two countries

Baghdad, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, called on the Turkish side to increase water releases and facilitate entry visa procedures between the two countries.

The First Deputy’s media office said in a statement, “Mohsen Al-Mandalawi received, in his office today, Sunday, the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Konay, and his accompanying delegation.”

The statement added, "Al-Mandalawi discussed the necessity of accelerating the completion of the expected international development road, as it is an important economic corridor and the largest transportation project in the region, in addition to its role in stimulating the global trade movement and developing the country's infrastructure, while calling on Ankara to increase water releases to confront the drought crisis that has caused damage and a very large negative impact repercussions on the agricultural and livestock sectors in Iraq.

The two sides stressed the need for serious action by the international community to find urgent steps and solutions to stop the bloody massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and to immediately allow the delivery and expansion of the scope of humanitarian aid to Gaza, calling at the same time to facilitate entry visa procedures between the two countries and to activate intelligence cooperation to secure the borders and pursue terrorism organizations..
