Industry Ministry Issues 118 Licenses in February

Riyadh: The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 118 new industrial licenses during February 2024, at a total investment value of SAR1.88 billion.The licenses covered five industrial activities: 23 in the food production sector, 18 for activities related to manufacturing formed metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, 13 for the manufacturing of non-metallic products, 11 for the manufacturing of chemical products, and nine for the manufacturing of rubber and plastics.According to a report by the National Industrial and Mining Information Center, from the beginning of this year until the end of February, the ministry issued 270 industrial licenses.The number of operating and under-construction factories in the Kingdom at the end of February stood at 11,757.According to the report, 93 factories started actual production in February.As per the report, the new industrial licenses were distributed over 10 regions: Riyadh with 40 factories, the Eastern Region with 35 factories, Makk ah with 22 factories, Qassim with nine factories, Ha'il with three factories, Jazan, Tabuk, Asir, and Madinah with two factories each, and the Northern Border Region with one factory.Source: Saudi Press Agency
