Jakarta: An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Wednesday Tenggara Bastian Province in western Indonesia.The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) said in a statement that the earthquake's epicenter occurred at a distance of 126.12 km at a depth of 10 km.There have been no reports of material damage or human losses due to the earthquake so far.Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes, as it is located on the Pacific belt known as the Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.Source: Qatar News Agency
