Electronics Help Provide 80 Jobs at Buraidah Dates Carnival

The National Centre for Palms and Dates, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, provided some 80 job opportunities for young men and women willing to work in the seasonal market at the Buraidah Dates Carnival.Making use of electronics, buying and selling is made easy, records of financial transactions are kept, and auctioneers are readily chosen. Technology also enables users to track in real-time, reach a larger number of markets, and view average prices in all wholesale date markets.Director of Customer Experience at the National Center for Palm and Dates Sulaiman Al-Khereiji said that the electronic system helps date markets be more efficient.He also said that several teams working in customer service facilitate the registration process for farmers, traders and marketers, much needed in this case as Qassim region has registered a large date production.The region has the largest palm plantations in the Kingdom, with more than 11.2 million palm trees producing o ver 390,000 tons of dates annually, and exporting to more than 100 countries.Source: Saudi Press Agency
