Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, participated in the 'Artificial Intelligence Retreat' on Day 0 of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi. The retreat set the stage for discussions focused on the UAE's leadership in Artificial Intelligence, with Sheikh Mohammed emphasizing the importance of enhancing infrastructure, data preparedness, and legislative frameworks to strengthen the nation's position in the AI sector.According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE's strategic advances in AI, noting that the country is well-prepared to capitalize on opportunities in this rapidly growing field. He emphasized that the UAE's resources and talent pool are crucial in leading future trends and pioneering the sector, with ambitions to further elevate quality of life and drive economic growth.Sheikh Mohammed praised the efforts of national entities in advancing the UAE's Artificial Intell igence Strategy and commended the retreat for unifying diverse entities to share insights and align frameworks to enhance their impact in AI. The meeting was also attended by key UAE leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.Other notable attendees included Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. The meetings were chaired by Sheikh Mohammed and brought together over 500 officials from federal and local governments, the private sector, and community institutions.
