UAE and Cyprus Forge Strategic Partnership in Digital Transformation and AI

Dubai: The Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office in the UAE government announced a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus. This collaboration is set to bolster cooperation in digital areas, foster the exchange of best practices in artificial intelligence, and enhance shared visions. The initiative aims to propel the growth of the digital economy sectors while contributing to the community's well-being.

According to Emirates News Agency, the partnership agreement was formalized by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Vice Chair of the World Governments Summit, alongside Dr. Nikodimos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus. Omar Sultan Al Olama emphasized that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, continues to prioritize global collaboration, expertise exchange, and the acceleration of digital innovation.

Al Olama further mentioned that the international partnerships established during the World Governments Summit are in line with the Summit's vision of enhancing global cooperation. These partnerships underscore the UAE's role as a global hub for innovation in artificial intelligence, facilitating knowledge sharing, development acceleration, and supporting the creation of a sustainable future through advanced technology.

Dr. Nikodimos Damianou highlighted that the partnership agreement is designed to exchange best practices in AI-related policies and technologies. It aims to identify and facilitate joint research projects in artificial intelligence while fostering collaboration among academic institutions, including research institutes and universities. The focus will be on building talent, developing AI capabilities, and supporting the creation of AI-related products and services.
