Abu Dhabi: The organising committee of the 4th Mango Festival convened a coordination meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming event scheduled at Expo Khor Fakkan from June 27 to 29, 2025. The festival is organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in collaboration with the Municipal Council of Khor Fakkan and Khor Fakkan City Municipality.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was led by Khalil Al Mansouri, Director of Government Relations at the Sharjah Chamber. It included participants such as Mohammed Khalfan AlNaqbi, a member of the Municipal Council of Khor Fakkan, and Mohamed Ahmed Al Darmaki, Director of the SCCI Branch in Khor Fakkan, along with local farmers and agricultural stakeholders. The discussions focused on arrangements and preparations necessary for the Mango Festival, highlighting its role as a significant platform in the Eastern Region's agricultural and tourism sector.
Khalil Al Mansouri emphasized the importance of collaboration between government entities and farmers to ensure the festival's success. He stated that the Mango Festival showcases the quality of UAE-grown produce and strengthens its presence in local and regional markets. The festival aims to promote Sharjah's agricultural capabilities, display premium mango varieties, and offer training workshops for farmers on sustainable farming techniques to enhance productivity and quality standards.
Mohammed Khalfan AlNaqbi acknowledged the crucial role of farmers in supporting local food security and noted that the festival serves as a platform to display local mango varieties and recognize farmers' efforts in advancing agricultural output. This year's festival will include participation from local farmers and agricultural experts, along with competitions to foster excellence in farming and promote knowledge exchange and modern agricultural technologies.
The meeting included interactive discussions between committee members and farmers, focusing on facilitating greater participation in the festival. Proposals were made for supplementary events and activities to enhance the cultural and social appeal of the festival, ensuring a comprehensive visitor experience.
