Giza: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, held a meeting with Counsellor Osama Youssef Shalaby, President of the State Council of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The meeting took place on Monday at the Council's headquarters in Dokki, Giza Governorate.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed expressed his pleasure in meeting the President of the State Council and senior counsellors. He praised the Council's efforts in serving the legal and administrative system and its role in establishing justice, safeguarding legality, and protecting rights.
The Chairman of the Judicial Council emphasized that the Council aims to achieve its goals and develop the judicial system by learning from and engaging with distinguished institutions. This involves cooperation in areas related to legislation, reviewing laws, attracting talent, exchanging expertise, and benefiting from successful experiences, all contributing to enhancing judicial work and consolidating justice and the rule of law.
The President of the State Council expressed pride in the visit, which reflects the strong relations between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. He applauded the steps taken by Sharjah in developing the judicial and legal system and affirmed the Council's cooperation in advancing the judicial framework to serve the objectives of both parties.
During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was briefed on a visual presentation about the Egyptian State Council's working mechanism, structure, and its divisions. The presentation covered the jurisdiction of the General Assembly of the Fatwa and Legislation Sections, the Supreme Administrative Court's competencies, and the specialised chambers dealing with administrative disputes and disciplinary judiciary.
On the sidelines, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured Princess Fawqia Palace, the State Council's current headquarters, viewing photographs of the Council's presidents and prominent figures since its establishment in 1947. He also explored a historical collection of books on Egypt's judicial history.
The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields and group photographs with the President of the Egyptian State Council, marking the occasion.
