Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the media centre and the operations and cybersecurity centre at the World Governments Summit 2026. The summit commenced today in Dubai and will continue until 5 February under the theme 'Shaping Future Governments.'
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed was joined by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, along with other dignitaries including H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, and Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit. The visit underscored the importance of media as a strategic partner in delivering accurate messages and raising awareness, while highlighting cybersecurity as a crucial line of defense for safeguarding data and ensuring business continuity.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the role of media and cybersecurity in creating a positive impact, stating that media is not just about reporting events but driving change, while cybersecurity acts as a guardian of the digital space. The summit has attracted extensive media coverage, with over 840 international, regional, and local media outlets present, supported by more than 44 media partners.
The World Governments Summit 2026 marks the largest leadership participation in its history, welcoming over 60 heads of state and government, more than 500 ministers, and representatives from over 150 governments. Additionally, the summit hosts a wide array of thought leaders and global experts, with more than 6,250 participants attending the event.
