Doha: H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, witnessed the closing ceremony of the 'Arabian Gulf Security 4' exercise, a joint tactical event held in the State of Qatar. The ceremony was marked by the presence of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Interior, alongside security forces from the region and a specialized team from the United States.
According to Emirates News Agency, this was the fourth iteration of the exercise, following previous events in Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. The exercise commenced on January 25, 2026, and spanned 11 days. During the closing ceremony, attendees were presented with a visual overview of key scenarios executed during the exercise, as well as a field demonstration of a simulated security incident. This highlighted the high degree of coordination and precision among the participating forces in responding to potential security threats.
The final demonstration featured a detailed simulation of counter-terrorism scenarios, protection of critical infrastructure, and crisis management. The security units showcased rapid response capabilities and meticulous coordination across different formations. The forces also conducted a parade before the main platform.
His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the performance of the participating Gulf forces during his meeting with the Emirati contingent. He noted the professional execution of demonstrations and scenarios, reflecting the advanced training, qualification, and readiness of Gulf security agencies. He conveyed his wishes for continued success in achieving shared strategic objectives.
His Highness arrived earlier in Doha and was welcomed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Interior, and other senior officials. Over the course of 11 days, the exercise focused on more than 70 field security scenarios, accumulating over 260 training hours. It aimed to enhance the readiness of GCC security agencies to address emerging security challenges, improve operational coordination, and develop joint work systems.
Participating teams demonstrated advanced competence and professionalism, executing scenarios with precision, speed, and integrated responses across ground, air, and special forces units.
