Abu dhabi: Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, honoured the winners of the seventh edition of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award during a ceremony held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The event reflects the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to fostering a culture of institutional excellence, promoting positive competition, and enhancing the quality of security and community services.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony was attended by notable figures including Counselor Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and several Commanders-in-Chief of Police across the UAE, among others. The event recognized 191 winners from participating individuals and organizations, alongside three recipients of the Community Service Medal, spanning 46 categories.
The award’s categories included 28 institutional and police categories, 16 functional categories, and two community service categories. Brigadier Dr. Faisal Sultan Al-Shuaibi, Director General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, stated that the award serves as a strategic platform for innovation, human capability development, and leadership enhancement in police work.
Al-Shuaibi emphasized the alignment of the award with the UAE government’s vision, aiming to position the UAE as a model of advanced security work. He noted that the award is based on success factors such as senior leadership support, clear criteria, efficient judging, and a rigorous evaluation methodology.
The seventh edition of the award was marked by high participation and extensive evaluation efforts, with 436 files assessed by 26 expert security professionals from various countries. The evaluation process included 688 field visits and audits over 1,108.8 hours, ensuring fairness and transparency.
Furthermore, new awards were introduced in this cycle to align with the Ministry’s strategic directions, including categories for promising leaders, people of determination, and police scholarship recipients, among others. Al-Shuaibi reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to evolving the award system to meet the demands of government work transformations, enhancing security service quality, and maintaining the UAE’s position in global excellence indicators.
