Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail, engaged with Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail, and the company's senior leaders and employees at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on the company's latest projects and strategic plans.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions included developments in both freight and passenger rail projects. The strategic plans highlighted the expansion of logistics services, enhanced connectivity across the Emirates, and support for sustainable transport. A detailed briefing was provided on the final preparations for the passenger rail service, set to commence operations in 2026.
H.H. also engaged with officials from the Public Policy Integration for Truck and Rail Committee, led by Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori. Representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Etihad Rail, and Abu Dhabi Police participated in the meeting. Progress on 11 initiatives aimed at integrating railways into the national transport system was discussed, with four initiatives already implemented.
H.H. commended the efforts of Etihad Rail and associated entities in advancing the national railway network. He emphasized that these achievements align with the leadership's vision of establishing an integrated infrastructure, solidifying the UAE's status as a transport and logistics hub.
