Ahmed Bin Saeed Attends Graduation Ceremony of MBRU’s Class of 2026

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Health and Chancellor of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), attended the graduation ceremony of MBRU's Class of 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event marked the 10th anniversary of MBRU.

According to Emirates News Agency, MBRU celebrated 184 graduates from 40 academic programmes across various medical disciplines in the Class of 2026. The graduates represented the College of Medicine, Hind Bint Maktoum College of Nursing and Midwifery, Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, and the Deanship of Graduate Medical Education.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum congratulated the graduates and their families, praising their dedication and commitment throughout their academic journey. He highlighted the crucial role they will play in shaping the future of healthcare and advancing community well-being.

H.H. emphasized that MBRU's achievements have been possible due to the unwavering support of leadership, positioning health advancement as a pillar of sustainable development. He encouraged graduates to commit to community service, uphold their professional values, and pursue lifelong learning.

Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Member of the Board of Directors of Dubai Health and Chairperson of the MBRU Council, noted MBRU's commitment to producing healthcare professionals who embody academic excellence and compassion. She expressed pride in the graduates' readiness to contribute to healthcare, research, and society.

Aisha Miran, Director General of KHDA in Dubai, delivered the commencement address, stressing the UAE leadership's principle that true achievement impacts people's lives positively. She celebrated MBRU's decade-long journey as a center of excellence in medical education and research.

Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of MBRU, acknowledged the collective efforts that have established the university as a cornerstone of Dubai's academic health system. He expressed gratitude to the university's leadership, faculty, and partners for their contributions over the past decade.

Dr. Mohammed Al Braiki, representing the Class of 2026, reflected on the graduates' journey beginning in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. He highlighted the lessons of adaptability and responsibility learned, reinforcing their commitment to serving patients.

Since its founding, MBRU has launched significant initiatives, including Dubai's first organ transplant programme, the UAE's first whole genome sequencing, and partnerships for advanced training in medicine and scientific research for astronauts. These efforts have positioned MBRU as a leader in medical education and research.

MBRU's milestones also include the establishment of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, the launch of new biomedical science programs, and strategic partnerships with international institutions like Queen's University Belfast and Mediclinic. The university's contributions to scientific advancement include over 2,362 research publications and 10 research centers.

These developments underscore MBRU's commitment to translating scientific knowledge into practical impact, with graduates securing positions at top institutions globally, reflecting the university's integrated approach to care, learning, and discovery.
