Abu dhabi: US President Donald Trump said Friday he's holding Canada responsible for wildfire smoke hovering over much of the Midwestern and eastern United States and vowed to call Prime Minister Mark Carney, suggesting that the 'cost of this pollution' could be added to tariffs Canada is already paying.According to Emirates News Agency, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Canada's forest management practices and the resulting impact on air quality in the United States. He stated that the United States is being affected by what he described as "filthy, polluted, and unhealthy air," further asserting that the air quality is "dangerous, and totally unacceptable."In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized his stance, accusing Canada of failing to properly maintain their forests and brush, which he believes is contributing to the air quality issues in the United States. He suggested that the repercussions of this could involve economic measures, potentially increasing tariffs on Canadian imports as a pe nalty for the environmental impact.
