Dubai:Dubai Police have introduced the JETOUR G700 patrol vehicle to enhance security, improve emergency response, and assist visitors at desert tourism sites as the winter season approaches. The vehicle was unveiled at Al Marmoom Oasis, marking a collaboration between the Tourist Police Department at Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation and JETOUR.
According to Wam, this initiative is part of Dubai's preparations for increased tourist activity at desert attractions during the cooler months, especially on weekends and public holidays. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Colonel Mohammad Abdulrahman, Director of the Tourist Police Department; Abdullah bin Khadeya, CEO for Strategy, Partnerships and Government Relations; and Major Saeed bin Ghadeer, Head of the Tourist Trip Programmes Monitoring Section at the Tourist Police Department.
Colonel Mohammad Abdulrahman emphasized the collaboration with JETOUR as a demonstration of Dubai Police's commitment to ensuring a strong presence at tourist destinations and providing a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors. He highlighted that the new patrol vehicle will enable officers to respond more effectively to emergencies, assist tourists, and address inquiries amid the anticipated rise in demand at desert attractions.
The JETOUR G700 is specifically designed for desert conditions, featuring a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, two electric motors, and a 34.13 kWh battery. This setup delivers approximately 904 horsepower and 1,135 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.6 to 4.8 seconds. Its off-road capabilities are essential for maintaining police operations in remote tourist locations, as explained by Col Abdulrahman.
The collaboration with JETOUR underscores the importance of partnerships in supporting field operations and enhancing public safety, ensuring that visitors have access to the necessary assistance and services.
