Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday affirmed necessity of Arab and international action to end the Israeli occupation of the territories of the State of Palestine with its capital East Jerusalem as an avenue to attain peace and security and stability in the Middle east.
President Abbas, who was speaking during a meeting with the visiting Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Al-Bousaeedi and his accompanying delegation in Ramallah, briefed his guest about conditions in the Palestinian territories in shadow of the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people, their land and sanctities, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
He also noted Israel's ongoing settlement activities, demolishing of Palestinians' houses, recurring killing and indiscrimination against the Palestinians, thus undermining efforts for establishing the two sides.
Wafa added that the Palestinian president lauded the Sultanate of Oman's support for the Palestinian cause at international quarters, affirming that Palestine and Oman have been bonded with deep-rooted brotherly relations.
The news agency also said that the OmanI foreign minister handed president Abbas a written message from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, affirming the sultanate's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
The meeting in Ramallah came on the heeds of the latest Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, bursting into Jenin city and the adjacent camp, where they killed at least 12 Palestinians and inflicted wide scale damage and destruction to the inhabitants' houses and properties.
