Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards Honours Leading Facilities Across MENAT Region.


Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Maritime, part of AD Ports Group, has announced the winners of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards (Marinas Edition) in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) during a ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS). The event celebrated achievements, initiatives, and leadership of marinas across the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT region).

According to Emirates News Agency, the awards highlighted various categories, with D-Marin Göcek in Turkey earning the gold award in the Customer Experience category, while Dubai Creek in the UAE took silver, and Jeddah Yacht Club in Saudi Arabia received bronze. In the Employer Excellence category, Palm Jumeirah Marina in the UAE claimed the gold award, followed by Yas Marina and Aldar Marinas, both also in the UAE, securing silver and bronze, respectively.

The Health and Safety category saw Dubai Harbour in the UAE secure the gold award, with Palm Jumeirah Marina taking silver and Emirates Palace Marina re
ceiving bronze. Yas Marina in the UAE won the gold Innovation award, with Dubai Harbour taking silver and The Pearl Island Marina in Qatar securing bronze.

For the Sustainability award, D-Marin Didim in Turkey received gold, The Pearl Island Marina in Qatar got silver, and Ayla Marina in Jordan took bronze. The top award of the night, the gold Outstanding Marina award, went to D-Marin Turgutreis in Turkey, followed by D-Marin Göcek with silver and D-Marin Didim with bronze.

In a unique twist, the Most Popular Marina award, voted by the public, went to Ayla Marina in Jordan, with The Pearl Island Marina in Qatar taking silver and Abu Dhabi Marine in the UAE earning bronze. The response to this year’s awards was notable, with 120 submissions from marinas in eight countries, marking a significant increase from the previous year.

Dr. Saif Al Nasri, Undersecretary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, emphasized the awards’ role in recognising achievements that contribute to service quality and bes
t practices in health, safety, sustainability, and innovation. Captain Saif Al Mheiri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Chief Sustainability Officer at AD Ports Group, stated that the aim of the awards is to motivate progress and set new standards of excellence in the maritime sector.
