Abu dhabi: Mohammad Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, highlighted the severe threats currently facing the Arab region, emphasizing the need for a robust and unified stance in response to Iranian aggression targeting infrastructure and civilians in multiple Arab countries.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Yamahi made these remarks during a coordination meeting of the Arab Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union. This meeting, held before the Union's General Assembly, aimed at aligning Arab positions on various issues on the agenda and was attended by heads of Arab councils and parliaments.
Al Yamahi also pointed to the Palestinian cause, noting that it is experiencing one of its most perilous phases due to ongoing Israeli policies. He criticized the passage of a law by the Knesset allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners and the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, which he described as grave violations.
Further addressing regional issues, Al Yamahi drew attention to the ongoing conflict and Israeli aggression facing Lebanon, stressing the urgent need for Arab unity and solidarity. He urged for increased coordination and unified positions in regional and international forums.
He reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's commitment to supporting decisions by Arab councils and parliaments and expressed readiness to enhance Arab parliamentary action on both regional and international stages.
