Abu dhabi: During its participation in the World Future Energy Summit 2026, hosted by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is showcasing its key projects and initiatives in clean and renewable energy, sustainability, and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. DEWA's involvement underlines its commitment to advancing sustainable innovation and smart technologies within the energy and water sectors, thereby reinforcing the UAE's leadership in global progress towards clean and renewable energy.
According to Emirates News Agency, visitors to DEWA's stand in Hall 5 (Energy Hall) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre can explore models of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, noted as the largest single-site solar park globally using the independent power producer model. The park's production capacity stands at 3,860MW, with plans to exceed 8,000MW by 2030, marking a 60 percent increase from the original 5,000MW target. This expansion supports the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy, aiming to provide 100 percent of energy production from clean sources by 2050.
DEWA is also presenting a model of Al Shera'a, its forthcoming headquarters in Al Jaddaf, set to be the tallest, largest, and smartest net-positive government building worldwide. Al Shera'a is designed to achieve high ratings under the LEED and WELL Building Standard, featuring an advanced technological ecosystem that includes IoT, Big Data analytics, AI, and renewable energy solutions for enhanced efficiency.
Located within the solar park, DEWA's Sustainability and Innovation Centre serves as a global incubator for clean and renewable energy innovation. It offers an integrated approach to sustainability concepts, combining interactive exhibits, educational experiences, training programs, and strategic initiatives to empower professionals and specialists in the field.
DEWA's Research and Development Centre focuses on solar power, smart grid integration, energy efficiency, and water. It has registered 64 patents, with 18 granted, addressing diverse aspects of sustainability efforts, including concentrated solar power, electric vehicles, energy storage, and robotics.
The EV Green Charger initiative, launched in 2014, highlights DEWA's pioneering efforts in public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, now boasting over 1,700 charging points across the emirate. This network provides various charging solutions to meet customer needs.
At the DEWA stand, Moro Hub, a subsidiary of DEWA's digital arm Digital DEWA, showcases its integrated security platform with AI-enhanced visual analytics. Moro also presents its cloud computing and Green Data Centre services, contributing to sustainability and carbon footprint reduction, alongside the FUSE AI platform for smart digital transformation.
