Dubai Chamber of Commerce Organises Successful Bilateral Business Meetings in Phnom Penh


Dubai: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, has successfully concluded its trade mission to Malaysia and Cambodia by organising 189 bilateral business meetings in Phnom Penh. The meetings aimed to explore new partnership opportunities between companies from Dubai and Cambodia across various sectors.



According to Emirates News Agency, the trade mission included the “Doing Business with Cambodia” forum, hosted in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Thailand, the Ministry of Commerce in Cambodia, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). The forum featured remarks from notable figures such as Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State, Ministry of Commerce, Kingdom of Cambodia; Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce; Salem Alshamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers; and Suon Sophal, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Board.



The event attracted over 357 senior officials, business leaders, and local company representatives who explored potential cooperation and partnership opportunities. Salem Alshamsi emphasised the chamber’s commitment to facilitating strong partnerships for Dubai-based companies in priority markets, thereby supporting the sustainable growth of Dubai’s business community and reinforcing its status as a global business hub.



During the forum, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce presented the opportunities within Dubai’s vibrant business environment to Cambodian companies, highlighting the emirate’s strategic advantages and its role as a gateway to high-potential regional markets. Additionally, the Council for the Development of Cambodia provided insights into the country’s economic fundamentals and investment opportunities.



The chamber has identified several high-potential trade sectors between Dubai and Cambodia, including aluminium, iron and steel, beverages, and aircraft parts. Promising investment sectors in Cambodia for Dubai-based companies include travel and tourism, transportation, textiles, consumer products, and construction.
