Dubai Chambers Engages in Strategic Meetings to Boost Trade with Ethiopia

Dubai: Dubai Chambers has initiated a series of strategic meetings in Addis Ababa aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations between Dubai and Ethiopia. The engagements involved discussions with various government entities, economic institutions, and investment organisations, focusing on collaborative opportunities for both regions.

According to Emirates News Agency, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, led the meetings. A significant discussion was held with Ethiopia's Ministry of Industry, represented by Minister Melaku Alebel. The meeting centered on expanding cooperation across industrial sectors, exploring private sector partnerships, increasing trade exchange, and identifying new avenues for joint investment.

Further discussions took place with the Ethiopian Investment Commission, where Deputy Commissioner Zinabu Yirga represented the commission. The focus was on attracting investment and strengthening cooperation in priority sectors. The discussions emphasized the investment environments in both Dubai and Ethiopia and highlighted the advantages available to investors and international companies.

Additionally, Dubai Chambers engaged with Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Africa's largest sovereign wealth fund, represented by Deputy CEO Meleket Sahlu. This meeting explored opportunities to build long-term partnerships aimed at advancing economic development and creating new opportunities for companies and investors from both regions.

These meetings were part of a trade mission led by Dubai Chamber of Commerce to Ethiopia and Ghana, aimed at supporting the expansion of companies operating in Dubai into high-potential African markets.
