Dubai: The third edition of the Dubai Future Forum, hailed as the world’s largest gathering of futurists, is set to begin tomorrow at the Museum of the Future. The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF). This forum aims to provide a platform for global thought leaders to collaborate on actionable solutions for the future.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Dubai Future Foundation will host the Forum on November 19-20. The event will feature over 150 prominent speakers from the UAE and various parts of the world, welcoming more than 2,500 experts from around 100 countries. Representatives from 100 leading international organisations specialising in futurism will also be present. It reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasizing Dubai’s commitment to preparing for the future.
Al Gergawi highlighted Dubai and the UAE’s role as a global hub for futurists passionate about shaping the future. The Forum will explore transformative shifts, identify priorities, and raise recommendations to support decision-makers in ensuring global readiness for future changes. He stressed the importance of revisiting government priorities for future readiness, given the rapid transformations in technology, society, and the environment.
The Dubai Future Forum 2024 will focus on five key themes: Foresight Insights, Transforming Humanity, Optimising Health, Empowering Generations, and Futuring Nature. These themes will be discussed through sessions addressing critical challenges and opportunities shaping
our world. The opening day will feature panels and keynote sessions, including ‘From Deep Space to Deep Ocean: A Future of Exploration and Discovery’, featuring notable speakers like Sara Sabry, Professor Oussama Khatib, and Suaad Al Harthi.
Other sessions will cover topics such as ‘Concepts of Time: How Do They Shape Our Future?’ and keynote addresses by experts like Dr. Parag Khanna and Dr. Jordan Nguyen. The Forum will conclude with a session on ‘Making the Case: Which Way to the Future?’, featuring His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul and Amy Webb.
