Dubai:The Government of Dubai has reported that the emirate's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached approximately AED473 billion in the first half of 2026, according to data from the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment at Digital Dubai. This figure marks a slight decline of 2.3% from the same period in 2025, where GDP was around AED484 billion. Despite this, GDP at current prices showed a marginal growth of 0.2%, reaching AED505 billion.
According to Emirates News Agency, the GDP results highlight continued growth in strategic sectors, including financial and insurance activities, human health and social work, information and communication, and construction. Financial and insurance activities alone saw an 8.8% real growth, contributing 14% to the GDP, up from 12.5% in the previous year. The sector's value added increased to approximately AED65.9 billion.
Human health and social work activities experienced a 14.3% real growth, with value added rising to AED6.2 billion. The information and communication sector grew by 2.7% in constant prices, contributing significantly to the digital economy. Meanwhile, the construction sector recorded a 2.4% growth, with its value added reaching AED33.2 billion.
Dubai's economic performance comes amid global economic shifts, with some sectors affected variably. However, the diversity of Dubai's economic base has helped mitigate these impacts, maintaining momentum across several high-value-added sectors. The largest contributors to real GDP were wholesale and retail trade, financial and insurance activities, and real estate, which together comprised a significant portion of the economic activity.
Key figures in Dubai's economic landscape emphasized the importance of sectoral diversity and digital transformation in maintaining the emirate's economic resilience. They highlighted ongoing efforts to boost investment, innovation, and talent, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, to foster sustainable growth and future readiness.
