Rabat: The third round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) successfully concluded after two days of intense competition at the National Institute for the Horse 'Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan' in Dar Es Salam, Rabat, Morocco. The event, held over Saturday and Sunday, saw the participation of 179 horses owned by nearly 50 owners from Morocco and abroad.
According to Emirates News Agency, the EAHGC is a significant event aimed at supporting the Arabian horse sector across all continents. It reflects the UAE's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage and advancing the breeding of Arabian horses worldwide. The competition included categories for yearling colts and fillies, two- and three-year-old colts and fillies, and mares and stallions, showcasing strong technical standards and the quality of breeding.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Morocco; Mohammed Al Harbi, Director-General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society; Omar Skalli, Director-General of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Horse; Habib Merzak, Commissioner of the El Jadida Horse Show; and Idris Tarek, Secretary-General of the Royal Moroccan Association for Purebred Arabian Horses, who participated in the crowning of the winners.
In the Yearling Fillies category, Aya Shems, owned by Bouzoubaa Mohssine, took the gold, while Asayel Shems secured silver and Hiba Azahraa earned bronze. In the Junior Fillies championship, Ilaf ME, owned by Mohammed Al Atwani, claimed the gold, with Siwar Bouznika taking silver and Eline ME securing bronze.
Mohammed Al Atwani's horses further triumphed with Amira ME winning the Senior Mares' gold title. Layla Bouznika and Dirwate Bouznika, both representing the Haras Royal De Bouznika, took silver and bronze, respectively. In the Yearling Colts category, Issan Ghazal won gold, Taj Bouznika took silver, and Hazem ME claimed bronze.
The Junior Colts championship saw Yamine ME, owned by Mohammed Al Atwani, secure gold, followed by Labib ME with silver and Menara Wahid with bronze. In the Senior Stallions category, Nihad Bouznika captured gold, Wassem Al Assil secured silver, and Osman MB claimed bronze.
The EAHGC series commenced in Australia and will continue with future rounds in the United States, China, Italy, and conclude in Brazil in November 2026. This global series underscores the UAE's dedication to maintaining the legacy of the purebred Arabian horse, supporting breeding programs, and enhancing the UAE's reputation as a global hub for Arabian horse championships.
