Ras al khaimah: The Emirates Council for Balanced Development announced the launch of development works for the Al Rams Waterfront and Al Rams Boulevard projects in the Al Rams area of Ras Al Khaimah. This initiative supports the Council's efforts to transform UAE villages and rural areas into integrated development destinations that enhance community quality of life and support sustainable development pathways.
According to Emirates News Agency, the two projects are part of the Council's vision to develop vibrant destinations and highlight national identity. The waterfront project includes the development of Al Rams Corniche and Al Rams Marina, while the boulevard project will redevelop the area's main commercial corridor and connect it to the corniche through an integrated urban system.
Stretching across 2,000 metres, the Al Rams waterfront will feature dedicated tracks for walking, cycling, and jogging, in addition to public facilities, parking spaces, landscaped green areas, playgrounds, and dedicated plazas for hosting events and community activities. This is aimed at reinforcing the area as a hub for social and cultural interaction and as a safe environment for sports and recreational activities.
The project also entails the construction of a landmark inspired by authentic Emirati heritage, which will represent a distinctive addition reflecting the uniqueness of the location and its connection to cultural heritage, while enhancing its visual identity as a community and tourism destination.
The Al Rams Boulevard project aims to renovate and rehabilitate more than 100 existing shops under a unified and modern visual identity inspired by local heritage. It will also provide parking spaces and public seating areas. A shaded pedestrian walkway inspired by traditional Emirati Al Sadu weaving art will connect shopfronts and extend seamlessly towards Al Rams Corniche.
To ensure the continuity of local commercial activity, construction works will be implemented in carefully planned phases designed to minimise disruption to shop owners throughout the execution period.
The Emirates Council for Balanced Development continues to implement initiatives aimed at developing UAE villages and rural areas and transforming them into attractive destinations that offer integrated community experiences reflecting the authenticity of the Emirati environment and supporting balanced development pathways.
