Muscat, The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, participated today in the 43rd Extraordinary Session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), on developments in Gaza and its surroundings.
The meeting was chaired by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, who is also Chairman of the council's current session, with the participation of the GCC foreign ministers and GCC Secretary-General Jassim Albudaiwi.
During the meeting, they discussed the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the escalation of violence and indiscriminate Israeli shelling of residential neighbourhoods in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of thousands of civilians, and the urgent and serious challenges facing the region as a result.
The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati.
