GCC calls for permanent ceasefire in Gaza

The Gulf Cooperation Council called for a permanent cessation of the war in Gaza and the implementation of the outcomes of the Taif Agreement on Lebanon.The extraordinary meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries issued a statement that read: "A ceasefire must be established in Gaza and Resolution 1701 and the outcomes of the Taif Agreement on Lebanon must be implemented."The statement stressed the Council's support for efforts aimed at a ceasefire in Gaza, the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of ending the occupation.Source: National Iraqi News Agency
