Baghdad - The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, affirmed: “The demands of the Palestinian people are just and legitimate, and their suffering must be ended,” while calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in order to achieve peace on the basis of the two-state solution.
Guterres said in a speech at the Cairo Peace Summit to discuss the situation in Palestine: “All humanitarian aid must be provided to Gaza, and international law must be applied and attacks on civilians, schools and hospitals must be avoided.”
He added: “Aid trucks are queuing up at the Rafah crossing and do not reach Gaza because of the contradictions.”/ End
