Dubai: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has announced a decision to exempt nationals of the Republic of Sudan from fines related to their residency and entry permits. This initiative reflects the UAE's dedication to assisting Sudan amid its current challenges.
According to Emirates News Agency, this decision is part of the UAE's broader strategy to support brotherly nations during times of crisis, underscoring the country's commitment to humanitarian aid and international solidarity. The exemption is applicable from May 19, 2025, and will last until the end of the year, allowing Sudanese nationals with outstanding fines to regularise their status through the ICP's digital platforms.
The ICP emphasized that the decision is consistent with national efforts to enhance social and humanitarian welfare for residents in the UAE. It highlights the leadership's dedication to compassion and generosity, reinforcing the UAE's mission to promote humanity and peace.
