Latifa Bint Mohammed Engages with UNDP Administrator on Sustainable Development

Davos: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Alexander De Croo, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), during the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting saw the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, alongside senior officials from both parties. Sheikha Latifa reiterated the UAE's commitment to sustainable development initiatives on both regional and global fronts, emphasizing the importance of partnerships with international bodies, especially the UNDP.

Sheikha Latifa highlighted that such collaborations are pivotal in achieving mutual development objectives and in building societies that are capable of facing future challenges. The discussions included a focus on shared development priorities such as advancing comprehensive and sustainable development pathways, fostering innovation in development policies, and enhancing government operational models.

Additionally, the talks underscored the significance of culture and knowledge in achieving long-term development goals. The meeting underscored the necessity for enhanced regional and international coordination in an increasingly complex global environment.

Both parties agreed that joint action and multilateral cooperation are crucial for achieving sustainable development, enhancing stability, and improving the quality of life for communities globally.
