Sharjah: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, inaugurated the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition 'ACRES' 2026 at the Expo Centre Sharjah, an event that will run until 24 January.
According to Emirates News Agency, the exhibition is organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department. Following the opening, Sheikh Dr Salem toured the exhibition halls to review various real estate projects and offers, which encompass residential, commercial, industrial, and investment sectors. The exhibition also highlights modern and sustainable residential communities, many of which are being introduced for the first time in Sharjah.
During his tour, Sheikh Dr Salem visited platforms representing government and private sector entities, listening to presentations on real estate services and reviewing new projects within the emirate. The inauguration of 'ACRES 2026' included honoring strategic partners, sponsors, and supporters, as well as the Minister of Housing and Lands of the Republic of Mauritius.
Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered a speech highlighting the integrated development journey of Sharjah under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. Al Owais emphasized the importance of the real estate sector as a key pillar of comprehensive development and noted the exhibition's success, with transaction values rising from AED1.4 billion in 2024 to AED4.3 billion in 2025.
Al Owais also mentioned the Sharjah Executive Council's decision to reduce real estate registration fees during the exhibition, reflecting ongoing government support. He concluded by expressing gratitude to all partners and contributors from both government and private sectors.
Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stated that the real estate sector saw positive growth in 2025, with transactions worth AED65.6 billion and a 64.3% growth rate. The sector attracted investors from 129 nationalities and launched 38 development projects, enhancing Sharjah's appeal to investors.
Shakeel Ahmed Yousuf, Minister of Housing and Lands of the Republic of Mauritius, praised Sharjah's support for the real estate sector, recognizing its role in linking technology with environmental care and modern design. He also noted the growing interest in real estate in Mauritius and the potential for collaboration with Sharjah.
The exhibition features educational events, including panel discussions, workshops, and training courses, covering market trends, smart investment strategies, and the latest applications of artificial intelligence and blockchain in real estate. The opening was attended by several dignitaries, government representatives, and business leaders in the real estate sector.
