Mohammed bin Rashid Unveils AED2 Billion Projects to Enhance Dubai Police Infrastructure and Services.


DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has introduced a strategic initiative featuring Dubai Police projects valued at AED2 billion. These projects are intended to strengthen security measures, invest in specialized police training, and promote employee wellbeing through housing initiatives aimed at enhancing family stability.

According to Emirates News Agency, the announcement was made during Sheikh Mohammed’s visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf. He was accompanied by senior officials including H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council.

Upon arrival, Sheikh Mohammed was received by Lieutenant General Dhahi
Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, and Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, along with other senior officers. Sheikh Mohammed commended Dubai Police for their commitment to safeguarding the safety and well-being of residents and visitors, emphasizing Dubai’s status as a leading city in security services through advanced technology.

Sheikh Mohammed urged further innovation and performance enhancement within the force, praising their professional commitment to setting new standards of excellence. Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri expressed gratitude for the support from Sheikh Mohammed and acknowledged guidance from other key leaders, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a secure city and a prime destination for economic growth and tourism.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on several projects, including the Dubai Police Academy’s new building in Al Ruwayyah 1, covering 155 hectares for 2,500 cadets and students, with a completion
target by 2027. The AED1 billion project features residential areas, academic facilities, sports zones, and a training field.

The visit also covered a new training centre at the Dubai Police Academy in Hatta, scheduled to open next year, and ‘Area 56’, a Unified Centre for Crime Prevention Systems and Data Analysis. Additionally, the Dubai Police Housing initiative in Umm Al Daman, set for completion by 2026, and the new building for the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency in Al Ruwayyah, were discussed.

Sheikh Mohammed also reviewed the expansion of the Bur Dubai Police Station and the new Forensic Medicine Building, alongside the Floating Smart Police Station at The World Islands, designed to serve maritime enthusiasts. Each project aims to enhance Dubai Police’s capabilities and service delivery, contributing to Dubai’s global standing in security and innovation.
