Dubai: The Nad Al Sheba Padel Championship is set to commence on Monday as part of the activities of the 12th edition of the ‘Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament’, which is renowned as the largest sports tournament of its kind, under the slogan “Limitless Capabilities”. Teams from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iran, Australia, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia will compete in the event. The group stage matches will begin on Monday, with the semi-finals scheduled for Thursday and the final on Friday, March 7th.
According to Emirates News Agency, the International Padel Federation (FIP) Gold Championship wrapped up on Sunday, marking the end of an intense competition among international players in both the men’s and women’s sections. This highlights the global appeal and competitive spirit of the sport.
In addition to the padel championship, the fencing competition began on Sunday, featuring participants from 13 nations, including Italy, Peru, Egypt, France, Tunisia, Slovakia, India, USA, Russia, Tajikistan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. UAE fencers registered with the national team and local clubs are also participating, showcasing their skills on an international stage.
The tournament also includes a special local girls’ championship. This event will see participation from the UAE’s female players, UAE nationals, and individuals born in the country, emphasizing the tournament’s commitment to fostering local talent and encouraging female participation in sports.
