NASA Delays Artemis II Crewed Moon Mission Due to Weather

Cape canaveral: Nasa has been forced to delay its first crewed mission around the Moon in more than 50 years due to unseasonably cold weather in Florida.

According to Emirates News Agency, the US space agency announced that a 'rare arctic outbreak' at the launch site necessitated the postponement of the Artemis II mission timeline. The launch, which marks the first Artemis moonshot with a crew, is now rescheduled for no earlier than 8th February, a delay of two days from the original plan.

The cold conditions also led Nasa to cancel a planned fueling test of the 98-metre Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. The test was scheduled for Saturday, but the agency called it off late Thursday due to the forecast of below-freezing temperatures.
