The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss the repercussions of the burning a copy of the Holy Quran incident in Sweden, which coincided with the first day of Eid Al-Adha.
In a statement, the organization stated that the meeting is open for executive committee members and is due after the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the head of the current session of the Islamic summit.
The statement noted the meeting will discuss “measures towards these despicable acts and to express the unified position against the desecration of the Holy Quran.” Last week, the OIC expressed stern condemnation of burning a copy of the holy book, the Quran, outside the grand mosque in Stockholm after Eid Al-Adha prayers.
