In local affairs, Al-Raya daily highlighted the significant achievements of Qatari women across various fields thanks to the unlimited support from the wise leadership, which believes in the necessity of empowering women socially, economically, politically, and educationally. As a result, Qatari women have reached high leadership positions both locally and internationally, fulfilling the expectations placed upon them.The paper underlined that Qatari women have successfully and professionally fulfilled their assigned roles. This was emphasized by the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council during an international forum in the Jordanian capital Amman, who stressed that enhancing the status of women is one of the fundamental pillars in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 by adopting clear policies to strengthen the status of women in all fields, providing them with equal opportunities in education and employment, which has enabled them to participate effectively in various work sectors and exercise their right to political participation.The newspaper noted that Qatari women today take pride in their successes across all fields, both locally and internationally. Locally, Qatari women holding senior executive and administrative positions, and they now constitute more than 37 percent of the workforce in all fields, especially in vital sectors such as education, health and social work, in addition to the fact that Qatari women represent more than 20 percent of entrepreneurs in Qatar, the paper added.Internationally, Qatari women have achieved diplomatic successes that have enabled them to gain membership in various organizations, committees, and positions within the United Nations, the paper said.In conclusion, Al-Raya emphasized that Qatari women have become a model for empowered women who have obtained all their rights at the regional and global levels. Women's empowerment is not limited to the local level but also extends to supporting women's education in many brotherly and friendly countries, especially in war and conflict zones, such as in the Palestinian territories, as Qatar has devoted all its resources to supporting the resilience of Palestinian women in the face of Israeli aggression and has consistently called for ensuring the security and basic rights of Palestinian women, equal to women worldwide.English-language newspaper The Peninsula said that the State of Qatar is among the countries which are taking sustainability as a serious state priority policy and the country has taken many initiatives to conserve natural resources by adopting environmentally-friendly practices.In its editorial under the headline "Conserving Natural Resources", the paper said that according to new report, Qatar has reached in advanced stage in treating and reusing wastewater in line with National Environment and Climate Change Strategy which aims at reusing 100% of treated wastewater by 2030. The reuse of treated wastewater in irrigation of green spaces across the country is recorded 13.1 million cubic meters in June this yea r, up by 7.5 percent compared to May 2024 and 11.6 percent compared to June 2023, according to National Planning Council.The Strategy aims to ensure sustainable and integrated management of all water resources. For example, Qatar will reduce groundwater extraction by 60%, reduce daily household water consumption by a third and double desalination via reverse osmosis or more sustainable technologies amongst other targets, the paper said, stressing that this strategy will drive a new trajectory that not only accelerates tangible impact across specific environmental domains, but also installs a robust policy framework, strong governance, and solid capability infrastructure to safeguard Qatar's environment for future generations.All eight municipalities of Qatar received the title of 'Healthy Cities', resulting from the successful, balanced integration of socio-economic and built-natural factors over time, The Peninsula added.Source: Qatar News Agency
