Dubai: SAMANA Developers has announced a significant contribution of AED15 million to the Edge of Life campaign, an initiative aimed at rescuing five million children from hunger. This campaign was launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, with the ambitious goal of raising a minimum of AED1 billion. The funds raised will be used to implement sustainable programs that combat childhood hunger globally.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Edge of Life campaign operates under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and is organized in collaboration with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger. The campaign specifically targets children in the world's most vulnerable communities who are at risk of hunger, highlighting alarming statistics that reveal five children under the age of 5 die every minute due to malnutrition and hunger.
The initiative encourages participation from all societal sectors, urging individuals and institutions to contribute and help save millions of children from the threat of hunger, while promoting compassion and solidarity. Imran Farooq, CEO of SAMANA Developers, emphasized that the campaign, initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, underscores the UAE's commitment to addressing hunger as a global humanitarian priority.
