SGCA Introduces University Challenge and AI Skills Camp to Promote Smart Communication Excellence

Sharjah: The Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), presented by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), has introduced two new categories in its 12th edition this year: the University Challenge and the AI Skills Camp (AISC). This initiative is designed to foster creative competition in smart communication and encourage technological and digital innovations within government communication.

According to Emirates News Agency, the University Challenge will feature a three-day creative competition in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). It is an opportunity for students from universities across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to demonstrate their innovative communication projects. Meanwhile, the AI Skills Camp, in partnership with the Rubu' Qarn Life Skills Centre in Sharjah, aims to create a creative environment to enhance practical skills in artificial intelligence. The camp will focus on the production and management of government and media content using smart technologies.

Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, emphasized the SGCA's commitment to supporting creative competition in smart communication. She stressed the importance of rewarding excellence and outstanding achievements in digital communication, particularly in the context of modern technologies' role in interactive public engagement. Al Suwaidi noted that such advancements are integral to government communication processes.

The SGMB Director highlighted that these categories aim to inspire university students to innovate and support constructive ideas and strategies. This contributes to improving the quality of government communication and expanding the award's reach to serve the government communication sector at various levels, including national, regional, and global.

This year's SGCA encompasses 23 categories covering strategic sectors such as government entities, international organizations, the private sector, individual awards, the 'Best Innovators Competition in Smart Communication' award, jury awards, and partner awards. The submission window for all categories remains open until July 24th, with winners set to be announced at the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) in September.

Comprehensive details, terms and conditions, criteria, and submission methods for each category are accessible on the SGCA's official website.
