Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an administrative decision to place the Al Qawasim digital platform under the direct management and supervision of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
According to Emirates News Agency, the decision outlines the objectives of the platform, which include enhancing community awareness of historical and societal identity, fostering kinship bonds within extended families, and documenting the Al Qawasim family history in a systematic manner. The platform aims to support researchers by providing documented and accessible content within a digital environment.
The decision mandates that data and content on the platform be prepared and updated in coordination with Al Qasimi Publications, the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre, and other relevant entities. It emphasizes the importance of verifying the accuracy and reliability of the information published, ensuring that it is sourced from official data approved by competent authorities.
The resolution also clarifies that the Government of Sharjah will own the design, content, and databases of the digital platform, without affecting the intellectual property rights of third parties contributing data. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi is authorized to form committees or work teams to undertake tasks related to the platform and to implement regulatory controls for the resolution's provisions.
