The Environment and Tourism Committee of the Shura Council discussed, in its meeting today, chaired by Council Chairman Muhammad Hussein Al-Aidarous, a number of issues related to the risks of waste to the environment.
In the meeting, which included the Chairman of the Committee, Khaled Mahmoud, the members of the Committee, and the Secretary General of the Council, Ali Abdel-Moghni, the Speaker of the Shura Council praised the role played by the Council in providing visions and consultations from the various Council committees in various fields to improve government work and performance.
He stressed the need to coordinate with the relevant authorities and their participation in the preparation of the report and include in it the obstacles and solutions that would address the dilemma of waste in the country.
Al-Aidarous stressed the importance of the competent authorities intensifying the educational and awareness aspect for citizens of the need to put waste in its designated places, and the need to pay attention to workers in waste collection and provide them with health means appropriate to the nature of the work they do.
For his part, the Chairman of the Environment and Tourism Committee reviewed part of the topics included in the report on the environment and , danger of waste to it, as well as the solutions, treatments and recommendations it concluded.
