ABU DHABI: The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UAE Chambers) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a UAE-Slovenian Business Council. This significant step aims to strengthen economic ties and foster business collaboration between the two nations.According to Emirates News Agency, the signing occurred during a meeting organized by the UAE Chambers in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. Attendees included Humaid bin Salem, Secretary-General of UAE Chambers, and a high-level delegation from Slovenia, led by Slobodan Šešum, Director General of Economic and Public Diplomacy at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation between the UAE and Slovenian business communities.The discussions included strategies for developing commercial and investment partnerships and expanding cooperat ion areas. The aim is to boost bilateral trade, increase imports and exports in sectors of mutual interest, and diversify investments in sectors such as health, logistics, information and communication technology, e-commerce, tourism, real estate, financial services and insurance, and agricultural technology.Humaid bin Salem emphasized the importance of the growing economic and trade relations between the UAE and Slovenia, supported by efforts to enhance these relations for developmental interests. He highlighted the desire of the UAE business community to strengthen bilateral ties with Slovenia, recognizing Slovenia's role as a gateway to the East and Central European market for Emirati investors.He further noted that the establishment of the joint UAE-Slovenian Business Council would facilitate communication between the business communities of both countries and raise awareness of the investment environment in the UAE. The UAE's strategic location serves as a gateway to a consumer market of over two bil lion people, offering a significant advantage for Slovenian companies seeking entry into regional markets, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
