UNA to Hold a Workshop on Principles of Verifying Media Content

The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) will hold a workshop virtually next Tuesday themed "Applying Principles of Verification of Media Content in News Coverage", in cooperation with (Ruptly), a leading international agency specializing in videos and journalistic investigation.

The workshop aims to identify the necessary skills and the latest technologies used to verify media content, especially those related to videos and images.

UNA Acting Director General, Mohammed bin Abed Rabbo Al-Yami, said that the workshop comes within the framework of the union's efforts to consolidate the role of news agencies in confronting misinformation and fake news.

He explained that the workshop would allow media personnel in Islamic countries to learn about the latest technologies in detecting counterfeiting methods that are constantly evolving and to identify the applications used in this aspect.

CEO of Ruptly Agency Dinara Toktosunova said, "We hope that our achievements and innovative approach in this field would help all those involved in the verification process," expressing hope to continue cooperation with UNA in various fields.
