Abu dhabi: The Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre - Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) has activated its Coordination and Monitoring Centre in the Al Dhafra region. This move is aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response capabilities in one of the emirate's most significant regions.
According to Emirates News Agency, the activation is a vital part of ADCMC's strategy to strengthen its field presence across the emirate. This initiative aligns with the unique characteristics of each region, ensuring prompt and efficient responses to potential emergencies or crises. Dr. Abdulla Hamarain Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Response and Recovery Sector at ADCMC, emphasized the strategic importance of this activation. He highlighted that the Al Dhafra region's vast geographic expanse, environmental variety, and economic significance necessitate a tailored approach to preparedness and coordination. This aligns with Abu Dhabi Government's vision to enhance crisis readiness and develop a robust, integrated response system across the emirate.
Dr. Al Dhaheri further explained that this activation represents a shift from a centrally focused response model to a more balanced approach. This approach is characterized by distributed capabilities and proximity to potential incident sites. The step is part of ADCMC's broader mission to establish a crisis management framework that emphasizes spatial flexibility and institutional integration. This initiative aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi's capacity to protect its community and economy against emerging challenges.
The Centre's activation is an additional component of Abu Dhabi's broader crisis management framework. It reinforces ADCMC's commitment to building a responsive and adaptive system that acknowledges the distinct nature of each region in the emirate. The initiative aims to enhance field readiness, promote effective collaboration with partners and stakeholders, and create a world-class model in emergency, crisis, and disaster management.
