Ajman:The Ajman Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED) has announced the launch of Innovation Month 2026, introducing seven initiatives to enhance institutional and community innovation and improve economic services within Ajman's business environment.
According to Emirates News Agency, the program, led by Sulaiman Al Dhaheri, Head of the Innovation Team at Ajman DED, aims to encourage employees, customers, and strategic partners to offer innovative ideas and solutions. These initiatives include hackathons, collaborative laboratories, and innovation challenges to promote knowledge exchange, creativity, and the transformation of ideas into practical solutions.
The events kicked off with the Economic Innovation Challenge, running from November 1 to 20, through the department's website. This challenge invites submissions related to business licensing, consumer protection, trademarks, foreign investment attraction, and SME development. Submissions will be judged on originality, feasibility, potential impact on customer satisfaction, and alignment with Ajman DED's strategic goals.
On November 5, Ajman DED will host an Innovation Journey to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and its Research and Innovation Centre to explore innovation and scientific research practices. From November 9 to 11, the Innovation Corner at Ajman DED headquarters will offer an interactive space for employees to stimulate creative thinking.
The Ajman Business Hackathon will take place on November 16 at Ajman Saray Hotel, in collaboration with the Free Zones Authority. Participants will work on developing innovative economic forecasting models and digital solutions. Additionally, competitions and brainstorming sessions via the Virtual Innovation Lab and Fikra System will be held on November 16 and 20 to encourage workplace problem-solving and operational efficiency improvements.
Ajman DED will also feature in the Innovation Month Exhibition on November 17 and 18 at Flag Park, organized by the Ajman Government Excellence Programme, showcasing projects with other government entities. The month concludes with a Collaborative Innovation Lab on November 19 at Ajman Saray Hotel, which will focus on strengthening Ajman's entrepreneurship ecosystem through discussions on business licensing, financing, marketing, and digital transformation for small enterprises.
These initiatives are part of Ajman DED's commitment to fostering cross-sector collaboration and empowering entrepreneurs to advance sustainable economic development in Ajman.
